In 2016 James supported his employer’s annual corporate
charity and raised money by successfully completing the Great North Run for Prostate Cancer UK. In a cruel twist of fate, 5 years later our family was to be devastatingly impacted by this cruel disease when James’ Father in law David, sadly lost his battle to it at the end of 2021.

David was an extremely active man throughout his own life, himself
completing half marathon’s, so would be extremely proud (and probably envious) of the huge challenge James has taken on but especially so in his honour.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and 1 in 8 will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer which is more than 12,000 men every year.
Every individual and family affected by this disease goes through such a brave and painful battle, so if we can raise enough money to prevent just one other person from having to experience this or potentially loose their life it will be worth every step of James journey.
