Story

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

This year, I am taking on the incredible challenge of running my first London Marathon. While the race is a daunting 26.2 miles, it pales in comparison to the battle my dad is currently facing.

My dad has been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer, which has spread to his bones and spine. He is undergoing palliative chemotherapy to manage the pain and complications.

Watching my dad’s strength and determination as he fights every day to be here for his family has inspired me to push my own limits. I am running not just for him, but for every family affected by prostate cancer. This disease is the most common cancer in men, and the need for better treatments and support systems is critical.

By supporting me in this marathon, you are directly contributing to Prostate Cancer UK, a charity that provides essential research, education, and support for patients and families affected by this illness. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to finding better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Your generosity will help ensure that no one has to face prostate cancer alone. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of so many men and their loved ones. Please join me in this journey by donating to my JustGiving page.

Every mile I run, I run with hope and determination for a future where prostate cancer no longer poses a threat to our fathers, brothers, husbands, and friends.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.

With gratitude,

Jen (known as Jen Wood and Jen Kirk)
