Story

In 2020 just before we went into lockdown, my Dad was given the unfortunate news that he was battling Prostate Cancer.

As Covid spiked, up and down the country the relevant hospitals and clinics halted the Prostatectomy procedure my Dad needed.

Flying across the UK, over to Ireland back and forth to be told "sorry, we've closed". Things began to look pretty gloomy.

But finally, we found one of the only hospitals still performing this surgery, the Royal Marsden Hospital where my Dad got the treatment he needed.

In the UK, 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lifetime and over 11,500 men die every year from Prostate Cancer. It is the most most common cancer in men.

This is our story, and this is why I am running the London Marathon in 2025 for Prostate Cancer UK.
