Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

In 2014 I cycled from London to Paris for Macmillan cancer support as a thank you to them for supporting us when my Father in Law, John, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. With the help of my wife, Jane, we rasied over £3,400.

Three years on, sadly, our family has witnessed further loss of loved ones and I am now going back in the saddle for Marie Curie.

I will be cycling from London to Amsterdam from 12th to 14th May 2017 and aim to raise as much money as I can for this wonderful charity. Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Last year they cared for over 40000 people across the UK, this takes a lot of money!

To assist my fundraising, I have been asking local businesses to buy advertising space on my cycling jersey. I undertake most of my training around Hampshire, so if you see me, do give me a wave!

To date, my generous sponsors are:

 Sparks Ellison    www.sparksellison.co.uk

Ventura Kitchens    www.venturakitchens.co.uk

5 past 7 (Tailoring & Alterations)    www.fivepastseventailoring.com

I am extremely grateful for their support and generosity. There are still a couple of advertising spaces left on the shirt if any business would like to join my cycling billboard!

This is a 2 day cycle challenge.

Day 1 is a 140km ride with an early start in London and out through the Essex and Suffolk countryside before arriving in Harwich for an overnight ferry to the Hoek of Holland.

Day 2 is a 75km ride from the Hoek of Holland, following the coast past The Hague to Zandvoort and then inland to Amsterdam to complete the challenge.

I would be really grateful for any donations to assist me in my challenge to complete this event and to raise over £1100.
