On 14th April 2025 (not March 31st 2026 - no idea where that date came from!) this enthusiastic coffee shop cyclist is leaving London by bicycle bound for Barcelona, some 850ish miles away on the other side of the Pyrenees mountains. All going well, I'll get there still smiling on 25th April 2025. I have no doubt there'll be tough miles along the way but those tough miles will pale into insignificance when compared to the tough miles travelled by anyone living with dementia and their family and friends. My mum lives with dementia and I support her as best I can. She is now living in Ringdufferin nursing home where she receives excellent care and support. But imagine a world where we didn't need dementia nursing homes...

I have chosen to try and raise a few quid for the Alzheimer's Society whilst undertaking this cycle as they both provide support to people living with dementia and their families, and they support research into dementia. Update- sadly my mum passed away peacefully on 28th April 2025. Brian, David and I are very grateful for all the support we've received on mum's sudden and peaceful passing. Thank you for your support
