Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 23rd May this year I will be taking on the challenge of running 100km (62 miles) from London to Brighton.
I am doing this in memory of my friend Brent McCarthy who I served in the RAF Police with. We were part of a team of six who were deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 to train the Afghan Police. Tragically Brent was killed on the 12th May 2012 whilst on the ground in Helmand province.
I am raising money for mental health charity Combat Stress which was a cause that Brent supported. The charity supports ex servicemen and women suffering from conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder. They provide counselling and clinical treatment amongst other things to help veterans readjust to life back at home.
I have been training hard so that I will be able to complete my 100km challenge in my target time of under 15 hours.
I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me in support of this great cause as I would like to raise as much money as I can in memory of Brent.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Combat Stress.
Thanks, Andrew Stevenson
