Good 'ay All
Firstly to all those that have contributed towards my fundraising and / or provided me with support for the London to Brighton Bike Ride last Sunday (18/06/06), Thank you very much. However the target of £1,000 including Gift Aid ( taxpayers) has not been beaten this year. However, we have reached +-£600 on paper, excluding the Gift Aid. It is all due to the efforts of all of you, that this has been possible. This amount would not have been reached if it weren't for the generosity of our staff, suppliers, my friends & family.
Sunday was a hot day with temperatures reaching 29’C, although much cooler than last year. Arriving at the start I found lots of the 29,000 people had not turned up for their earlier starts but instead started with me at 9:30am. This obviously meant slowing down the ride and in places no movement was seen for 15mins. This was causing a few muscles to seize up, to many a rider. Unfortunately I ended up causing some damage in my left knee and traveled the last 30km with it strapped. I said I would make and I would do it no matter what. I managed to finally finish with a ride time of 4hr and 38mins (20mins quicker than last year). I reached the end a bit relieved. Satisfaction soon took over knowing that all the hard work had been well worth it, and now I could put my feet up in my room at the Hilton Brighton Metropole with a cold beverage or 2 and just relax.
I know in this day and age, we don't hear positive things enough...You have all made a difference!
Once again, thank YOU!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I would really appreciate you digging deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hilton In The Community Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
