Hi
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. The George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust is a charity very close to my and my family's hearts. In August this year my friend Alex Robertson and I will be cycling over 1,200 miles to Rome to raise money for this very worthy charity. Our goal is to complete the ride in 12 days. Training is going well so far, but I'm sure there is little we can do to really prepare ourselves for the some of the challenges that lie ahead (apparently the Alps can get a little 'undulating'!)
George Adamson and Tony Fitzjohn worked together for over 18 years at Kora reintroducing lions and leopards into the wild. Their tireless efforts meant that 30 lions and 10 leopards were released into the wild from the reserve. Many of you will have read the book Born Free which beautifully captured the story of George and the lioness Elsa and her cubs.
Since then the trust has expanded to the Mkomazi reserve and is now a sanctuary for a wide range of endangered species. Without the amazing work that is done by the trust, almost certainy many of these species would face extinction. The money that you donate will go towards new roads, boundaries, water holes, machinery etc. to support the reserve, as well as funding anti-poaching patrols and education programs to local villages about living in harmony with the wildlife.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dotty Rhino - George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
