Story
I will be running the London Marathon 2024 for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
As most of my friends and family will know, I have never been very enthusiastic about exercise, let alone running a marathon, however, at the beginning of 2023 I completed the Couch to 5K and fell in love with running!
If you had asked me a couple of years ago if I would even consider running a marathon I would have laughed in your face and then continued eating my McDonalds triple cheeseburger, and yet here we are, a year later and I have willingly signed up to run 26.2miles.
I have chosen to run for Muscular Dystrophy UK, this charity supports the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and in many cases, it limits lives. MDUK do vital work in funding pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.
This charity is very close to mine and my family's hearts as it has affected my uncles, Arthur and Joe, and my cousin, Owen, who all passed away at a very young age. I will be running in their memory, so I would be very grateful for any donations, big or small. Thank you!
