Story
My Dad, Bill Cove, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2022 when he was 92. He died on 31st July following a fall probably caused by disorientation and lack of balance caused by the disease. Although it was harrowing at the time, he still knew and loved us, he could still do some little daily tasks and enjoyed chatting about music, art, TV, sport and politics. Others are not so lucky- we ‘lost’ my Mother-in-law, Betty Cummings, to dementia long before she died in 2020 as she knew nobody and simply stared at the walls day in, day out, for years. Several friends have parents in this state now. Many people develop Altzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia at a much younger age and the suffering that it causes to victims and families is immeasurable. It is likely to touch all of us with a family member or friend in due course. Ollie, Mum and I are doing the London Memory Walk on 6th October to raise much needed funds to support research into Altzheimer's and dementia. Please give what you can. If you would prefer to give cash or do a bank transfer please contact me directly.
Thank you in advance for showing you care and honouring my Dad's memory.
Bill Cove 1929-2024 RIP. Love you Dad xxxxx

Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you don't need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
