Before the devastating earthquake of the 12th of January 2010, an estimated 1.3 million of Haiti's school-aged children did not have access to an education. UHUK was formed in 2008 in direct response to helping Haiti's children get an education. UHUK has been tirelessly working at making a positive contribution in the lives of the impoverished children in Haiti by working with selected grassroots organisations in the country. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. They say that every child has the right to an education, however, for those born into a life of poverty, education becomes even more paramount in helping them secure a prosperous future. We were sponsoring 16 children in Carrefour and we want to expand to include more sponsorships and assist in the building and re-building of more schools throughout Haiti. Please donate now and help us in our challenge of educating the under privileged children in Haiti.

Due to aggreviating an old injury I've had to postpone this walkathon for the next couple of months!!

 

WEEKEND WALKATHON - 1ST AND 2ND OCTOBER
LONDON TO BRIGHTON

A year ago I started my fundraising efforts for Haiti by walking the length and bredth of London's tube network - covering approximately 150miles. I managed to raise £1,000.

I want to mark that anniversary by walking 50miles from Trafalgar Square to Brighton Beach.
However this time the walkathon is OPEN TO ALL WHO WISH TO RAISE MONEY FOR THEIR CHARITY OF CHOICE.

DAY ONE: Saturday 17th September from Trafalgar Square to Crawley. 7.30am - 7.30pm

DAY TWO: Sunday 18th September from Crawley to Brighton Beach 8am - 6pm

Walking map directions will be provided to all participants. Overnight sleeping arrangements will have to be made by participating individuals themselves. However a list of B&B's on route can be provided on request.
