Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In October 2014 we will be cycling over 500 Kilometers from London to Lands' End in two and a half days. We will depart Twickenham early on Friday morning riding 128 miles to Somerset. The next day we ride a very hilly 120 mile route into Cornwall via Dartmoor National Park and finally, on our last morning it's the 65 mile grand finale across the Penwith Peninsula and down to Lands' End. In all, we will be cycling through Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall for a total of 27 hours and ascending some 7,000 meters.
Here is why we are taking part in this extreme challenge for St Giles Trust...
Gangs are responsible for half of shootings and a fifth of violent crime in London. For every four young people that commit a crime, three won't be able to break the cycle. Fuelled by deprivation, homelessness and no hope for the future, these three young people will go on to damage themselves, their families and the communities where their victims live.
With help from St Giles Trust, four of every five young offenders DO break the cycle. They stabilies their lives, reconnect with their families, form new positive friendships, and gain access to education.
The SOS Project gives these young people hope and a way out of gangs.
