Longest Day Golf 2018 · 21 June 2018 ·
We are hosting a charity golf day to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We are completing x3 rounds of golf at 3 different courses in the same day to raise money and our aim is to raise up to £1000.
For those of you who’ve never played golf before this may
sound easy. Don’t be fooled, this is going to be a very long and challenging day… For context 1 round (18 holes) will take close to 4 and a half hours to complete so by playing 3 rounds that’s 13.5 hours of solid walking plus travel between courses in one day.
An average level golfer (our level) walks around 6.9 miles
per round – meaning that in total we’ll be tackling over 20 miles of walking in one day.
Again, for context, the average distance covered when hiking up and down Scarfell Pike is approximately 6 miles of walking. Mount Snowdon (route depending) is somewhere between 7-10 miles and for Ben Nevis it’s 8.5 miles.
