At Longlands Care Farm we care for, mentor and support disadvantaged and vulnerable young people aged 13 to 19 who are not succeeding in mainstream education. On arrival at Longlands the prospects for many of these youngsters is bleak. They live dysfunctional lives, often without basic needs being met, and can suffer with a lack of self-esteem, many trying to cope with mental health problems.

Longlands provides a safe place with a family atmosphere, which many youngsters have never experienced. We offer opportunities to gain employer recognised qualifications through meaningful work on an organic livestock farm and teach life skills for independent living. We help youngsters develop confidence and progress into paid employment, further education, or apprenticeships. To date we have a 100% success rate in our young people achieving qualifications. 
We desperately need funding to provide new facilities that can offer more learning opportunities for employability and independence.
