Story
James Elgar, one of our designers, had a Stroke in July 2017 while surfing down in Devon at the age of 33. The Stroke hit him on the right side of the brain, meaning he completely forgot how to talk. James got great aftercare support from his local NHS team, the Shropshire Rehabilitation centre, helping him to learn the words again to make conversations. James re-joined iDEA in November 2017 and has continued to make good improvements.
We're thrilled to announce that James, along with other members of the iDEA team, will be undertaking the epic near-200-mile journey between our two offices in July this year - raising money for The Stroke Association.
The Stroke Association does fantastic work to raise awareness and provide support to those affected by strokes. We are proud to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause.
About the ride
What started off as a pub conversation quickly became a reality. Our plan is to "commute" between our two offices. We will be starting out from Longnor, Shropshire - and riding to Somerset House in London.
It’s a total ride of 193 miles over two days (thankfully!), with a total elevation gain of 4833 Feet.
