Story
Team Longridge Vets are running for the Epilepsy Society and Macmillan Cancer Support!
Nigel and Sue suggested we set ourselves a challenge to run the Great Manchester 10K to raise money for the Epilepsy Society and Macmillan Cancer Care. We couldn't say no! And now we have a group of us attempting to train to run. For several running is completely new, others are a little more pro. It's going to be interesting to say the least.
The past 18 months have been challenging for everyone. Sadly some of our team had had extra challenges and this is why we are raising money.
A close family member to the practice was diagnosed with epilepsy. The team have seen the effect on the family and the challenges it has brought. In recent months one of our team received a cancer diagnosis, and has had to stat lengthy treatment. Macmillan have provided support and expertise.
It has brought home to us that we never know what's round the corner, and how important the work of these charities are. We are a close strong team. We spend a lot of hours together. We refer to our team as 'the Longridge Vets family'. So when one of us/someone close to us is unwell we all shed a tear, have a sleepless night, and help out wherever we can. It's a fabulous bunch to be a part of.
We are therefore splitting donations between the Epilepsy Society and Macmillan Care Support. Please do donate if you can, the donations will help get us through the run.
Here's to lots of training!
Thank you xx
