 200km.... in one day..... here's why...

After suffering from constant tonsillitis from the age of one, we were happy that our son Levi, aged three and a half, received a date to have his tonsils removed and was going to be free from the recurring infections that were happening every four weeks.  

However on  Monday 30th May 2016  Levi took a post tonsillectomy bleed which led to serious complications.  After a partial tracheostomy, adrenaline injections, resuscitation and two blood transfusions, he was transferred to the Children's Intensive Care Unit in Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.   Further complications lead to both lungs collapsing and a lot of nervous days waiting by his bedside!! 

Thankfully he made a full recovery and today is a very energetic five year old.... full of life and fun!!  

The care he received while in Intensive Care was second to none and we will never be able to thank them enough for saving our sons life.

So.... to thank the amazing staff at the Royal Hospital For Sick Children for everything they did, to help them help other children in a position similar to Levi and to also raise awareness for the fantastic work that goes on day in, day out at the Hospital, on the 27th August, myself, Connor McCullough and Robert Johnston are taking on the challenge of cycling a 200km loop around the North Coast of NI from Kells - Larne - Cushendall - Ballycastle - Portstewart and back to Kells.

We would love it if you could join us in supporting this fantastic cause, every pound raised will be put to good use in PICU in Belfast and also give us some encouragement to make it to the finish line!
