Sienna and I have joined the Claire house 2023 zip wire to help raise funds for Claire house children’s hospice. The care we personally received as a family was amazing. 

When Narelle sadly passed away (my daughter/Sienna’s sister) the care provided by Claire house was invaluable. They made it possible for Narelle to stay at home with us as a family until the funeral where we got to spend time with her. Claire house staff were at the end of the phone 24/7 for anything and everything. Child death is not an easy thing to ask people for support with but the staff at Claire house who sadly deal with this too often were our support when we really needed them. They helped us create memories and helped us through the worst time in our lives. Sienna was 7 years old when Narelle died so obviously this was a difficult situation too, we received help in ways for Sienna and Narelle to spend time together as sisters and create memories that will last forever. 

Claire house also provide counselling sessions to the whole family, they run support groups for parents and also sibling groups. This is a great way for adults and children to be able to connect with others in a similar situation and not feel so alone. I could go on about all the amazing work this charity does as the list is endless but this is a small snippet of our personal care received from them. 

We are trying to raise as much money as possible so as this service can continue to be provided for as many families who may need them. Child death is extremely difficult and I could not imagine dealing with it without this support.
