Simon, Ralph and Lorna - The Ben Nevis Braveheart Triathlon page

Thanks for donating to our fundraising page. We are raising money for Parkinsons UK because our Dad suffered from Parkinsons disease - very graciously - and donated regularly to Parkinsons UK himself. Dad passed away at the end of December 2018. He understood the science of the condition and believed a cure could be found, sadly this was not in his lifetime but it could be in ours'. Dad was polite and courteous and thoughtful of others until his last days. Parkinsons took away his mobility, his ability to read and write, it made him unable to dress himself or, in the end, feed himself, and it took his speech too, yet amazingly he retained dignity, tolerance and love for others. Dad had many adventures himself walking and bothying in Scotland, so it is highly appropriate that we have a sibling adventure on his behalf in Scotland. Where better than the iconic Ben Nevis? Ralph will lead the team out with an early morning sea swim, Simon will cycle the 2nd leg; 58 miles, then Lorna will have a half marathon to do up and down Ben Nevis. We all aim to put in our hugest effort for the memory of our Dad. Please support us, support Dad's legacy and support Parkinsons UK.
