Longest night run · 21 December 2017

We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

Inspired by two equally crazy runners - Chris Marritt and Andy Oates - who have decided to run from Leeds to Manchester overnight on the Longest night of the year... so I've decided to do my own. Not so glamorous version.

I'll be solo and running laps around my home town. Through the night, in the cold and dark, risking safety and health.... just like homeless people on the streets and in poor housing do every single night...

Shelter has a vision that everyone should have safe, secure and affordable housing... there are over 125,000 homeless children in Britain today...Shelter gets 3,300 unique callers every week. By donating money and fundraising we can at least help get more advice and solutions to those who need it most.

So aiming to run from sunset to sunrise might seem a little extreme (I'm sure not many of you would consider sponsoring me to run a marathon!), but through it I aim to draw attention to the conditions that the many sleeping on the streets face every night.

Please donate and help myself and the guys raise some money for a good cause this Christmas.
