Nichola, Lorna and David are running Brighton Marathon

Brighton Marathon 2016 · 17 April 2016 ·
Mine and Nichola's beautiful Nanny passed away on the 27th August after a long and hard battle with Alzheimer's. Watching her deteriorate and seeing the extent of this awful disease was truly heartbreaking. Which is why, we have decided to run the Brighton marathon for the Alzheimer's Society. David has also signed up and has agreed to fund raise with us in an effect to make even more of a difference. This will be a massive challenge emotionally and physically, however we are now a even more determined to complete this in memory of such a wonderful lady.
Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia affecting around 500,00 people in the UK. In the latter stages Alzheimer's affects much more than just a persons memory, including their ability to communicate, eat & walk as well as affecting their behaviour and moods. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease, there is currently no cure for Alzheimer's however there are treatments which can temporarily alleviate some syptoms or slow down it's progress in some people.
We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer's Society in memory of the lovely Gwendolina and to help further research.
