On Sunday 30th April, I will be running the Worthing RunFest 10K for Worthing Mencap. I am taking on the challenge to raise much needed funds to help them to continue to be able to provide the vital services they offer to the local community.

Worthing Mencap is an independent, registered charity providing support and services for people with learning disabilities and/ or autism, their families and carers in Worthing and the surrounding areas.

Worthing Mencap provides a vital support service as well as a vast and varied activities programme.

Their services and activities help people with learning disabilities and/ or autism to:

• gain independence
• build confidence
• make friends & socialise
• have fun
• develop new interests
• get involved in the local community.

Worthing Mencap is committed to raising awareness of the rights and needs of people with learning disabilities and/ or autism.

I am running in memory of Tina Smith, my wonderful Aunt and for all the fabulous members, volunteers, staff and supporters of Worthing Mencap.

Anything you can give will be very much appreciated and will make a huge difference to the people Worthing Mencap support.
