Despite securing a ballot place in the Virgin London Marathon, it was too good an opportunity not to fundraise for charity. 

I also wanted to let someone know that I was thinking of them and her family at a difficult time in their lives and as a gesture I asked my friend and work colleague to pick a charity of their choice that I could dedicate my efforts to.
