Hi, my name is Lorraine, and Alzheimer’s disease has shaped my life in more ways than I ever imagined.

I work closely with Alzheimer’s residents every day. I’ve seen the confusion in their eyes, the quiet frustration when words slip away, and the heartbreak their families carry. But my connection to this disease goes far beyond my job — my own mum had Alzheimer’s too.

Watching my mother slowly fade from the strong, loving woman I knew into someone lost in her own mind was one of the hardest experiences of my life.

That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser — to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. We need better answers. We need more funding for treatments, earlier detection, support for families, and—above all—a cure.

All funds raised will go directly to Alzheimer’s research uk, to support life-changing research and support services.

This fight is deeply personal. It’s for my mum. It’s for every resident I care for. It’s for every daughter, son, partner, and friend who has watched someone they love slowly disappear.
