The aim of Liverpool Women's Charity is to raise funds to improve the care and support given to the patients and their families. Money raised helps to provide services and facilities above what is normally provided through NHS funding.

Story

On 6th September 2016 I very unexpectedly gave birth to a feisty little girl, her twin brother was happy to wait until the 8th September to make his appearance.

We were cared for originally in Burnley NICU.

On Wednesday 21st September George Wilfred Halliday fell asleep in my arms. I was heartbroken. This wasn't the way things were supposed to be. Lily carried on her fight and showed me I was stronger than I believed.

Lily was transferred to the Neonatal Unit at Liverpool Womens Hospital on the 1st October for a surgical review. What was initially expected to be a short stay turned out to be longer as Lily developed further complications and wasn't stable enough to undergo surgery. Being so far away from home and my 5yr old son Charlie was hard.

Liverpool Womens Charity provide accommodation for families so that they can be near their very sick babies as well as countless other services.

On Tuesday 15th November at just 10 weeks old Lily decided enough was enough and fell asleep in my arms. She had fought long and hard. Lily was such a strong and feisty little girl, in such a short amount of time my precious Lily and George taught me so much and I am proud to say I am their Mummy.
