Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are running our first marathon and have an extensive training programme in advance of the race on 17th April. We've just completed Reading Half Marathon which went well and a 23 mile training run. For the next 3 weeks we will be continuing with our normal 4 runs a week, cycling and yoga classes.

With just over a day to go now we're getting nervous and excited, have been to ExCel to register and collect our numbers. This week we've had a very relaxing pre race massage from Charlotte and a rest day today (Friday). We're planning on a very slow jog round Reding Parkrun (5K) tomorrow morning, then home to pack kit bags all ready for the big day!

We are raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Lorraine's mum passed away from this disease in 2010 and we hope that you'll support us to meet our fundraising target.

Thank you very much for your support, enabling us to beat our target.

We did it! It took us 5hours and 32minutes, it was very hot and tough going at the end but we're both on cloud nine to have crossed the finish line.
