Story
My friend Simon Jarvis (my best friend's husband) died aged just 33 was suddenly taken from us on the night of the 31 December 2010. The condition that took his life was SUDEP (Sudden unexplained Death in Epilepsy) this is when a person with Epilepsy dies suddenly for no reason despite being perfectly healthy.
I have seen first hand the devastation caused to my best friend, his children and family.
Simon was one of the most kindest, loveliest people you could ever wish to meet and touched the hearts and lives of all those who were privileged enough to know him. He lives on in his beautiful children and in our hearts forever along with the precious memories we hold of him.
I wish to take part in the Great North Run 2012 to raise as much money and awareness as possible in Simons name and in the hope that this will help prevent other families suffering the heartache of losing someone they love and cherish to this devastating condition.
Please sponsor me as much as you can afford to help make as much difference as we can to people who live with Epilepsy, their families and friends who support them and to help alleviate the fear of SUDEP by funding further research into the prevention and causes of SUDEP.
I can not tell you how very grateful I am for your support and sponsorship. This is my first time of running the Great North Run and I'm gonna run my socks off and make everyone proud!
Thankyou
