London To Brighton Challenge 2018 · 26 May 2018

Our charity is a thriving community of support for children, young people and families living with complex disabilities. We believe that each child and young person, regardless of their disability, should have every opportunity to explore their potential and live their best life.

Story

I have self funded this event in order that all money raised goes to Chailey.

Chailey Heritage Futures supports 19 to 25 year olds with complex physical disabilities and health needs. It helps young adults, whatever their abilities, to explore their capabilities and pave a way forward for the future. The emphasis is on living and learning, and optimising the power of potential – be it small steps or gigantic leaps!

Futures services are unique and tailor-made, so whether it is somewhere to call home, a place to learn, or help in one’s own home – it is delivered by fully skilled staff, and with a warm smile. The services are personalised and bespoke.

Chailey is always looking to improve and enhance its services and is currently raising funds to develop and enhance the large garden attached to Futures bungalows, which are currently home to 14 young adults, including Charlie. The team hope to make this area a real hub and social area in the Summer months and would like to incorporate fully accessible raised beds as well as a skittles alley, plus a lot more. The funds that I raise on my epic walk will be dedicated to this exciting project.

"When I say goodbye to Charlie I do so in the safe knowledge that he is truly cared for".   Peace of mind is priceless.
