Why We're Doing This...

Ok, why are we raising money for The Biscuit Fund? Because this lovely charity is giving people in the UK a little bit of hope...making them realise that things CAN and WILL get better and that things won't always be so bad for them...and a little bit of humanity and compassion goes a long way. Basically, the charity is 'there' for people who have literally lost all hope. What they do is offer these people just a small crumb of hope that can make a massive difference to them when they're in despair, have nowhere left to turn to and don't know what to do anymore.

What is The Biscuit Fund?

The Biscuit Fund is a band of anonymous volunteers called 'agents' who  scour the internet, social media, newspapers and media reports daily. They identify people who are literally going without food to ensure their children can eat -  finding out about an elderly lady who's been mugged on her way to the shops - discovering somebody who's been 'sanctioned' (benefits stopped) because they missed an appointment at the Job Centre whilst they were being diagnosed with cancer - finding out that a person has been left without any money for food or heating because they've been found fit for work despite having severe disabilities that prevent them from working. The Biscuit Fund sends these people (anonymously) a little bit of cash to tide them over...or a food parcel...or 20 quid for the gas meter...or replaces the money that a mugger stole off them.

What We're Planning to do:

We think they're fabulous and we'd like to give them a real cash boost by raising as much money as we possibly can so that they can continue offering hope and small rays of light to people who are at the end of their tethers. So the Los Bellendinos (yes, we're aware of how that sounds but if you could see us all riding our bikes you'd know it's an appropriate name!!) are going to attempt the Great Manchester Cycle...26 miles from the Etihad (yayyyy!) to Old Trafford (grrrrrr!) and back again...twice... in 2 hours. Mission impossible? No chance...we're going for it!! A few people have asked why we didn't register onto the 52 mile event....and all we can say to that is we'll be literally dragging our ageing backsides around the 26 mile event...52? Computer (and knackered knees!) says NO!!!

Thanks for visiting our page...and even if all you have is a penny to spare, we're grateful for every penny that is donated because we know that every penny will be put to good use. And if you'd like to know more about this charity, please visit their website http://biscuitfund.org/ and have a good read about what they do....and thanks again :-)
