On the 8th August 2021, our lives changed forever when our precious little girl passed away in our arms the day after she was born. In that moment we knew we would always strive to be the best parents we can be for our precious girl, Lottie Jane Galvin.

We’ve been wanting to raise money in Lottie’s memory for quite some time and to kick off our fundraising journey we wanted to do something that almost everyone can do… and that’s walking. We are asking friends, family, colleagues, strangers even, to walk (a minimum of) 10,000 steps every day in April with us. Almost everyone owns a watch or phone that measures steps, this is the easiest way to measure your steps and keep track of your progress.

If you’ve only heard about this fundraising challenge post April 1st we encourage you to still join in!

And if you’re unable join in this step challenge we would still happily accept your donations.

We hope that no more babies ever have to pass away and that no parents ever have to go through what we’ve been through but sadly we know this likely will happen again. Therefore we want to raise money in Lottie’s memory for something that has been invaluable to us. We got to spend a further 4 days with Lottie after she died. Precious time making treasured memories and meeting grandparents.

Without one of Abigail’s Cold Cots that the hospital kindly provided us, we would not have been able to spend so much time with Lottie. The Princess Alexandra hospital currently only owns one of these cold cots.

As a family we would like to raise money in Lottie’s memory to buy a second cot for the hospital. God forbid two families were to lose their babies in the same week (something that could very likely happen) then one of those families could be stripped of the time and memory making with their baby that they deserve.

An Abigail’s Cold Cot cost £2,500 to produce and deliver to a hospital. We hope to provide the Princess Alexandra hospital with a second cold cot that will have a plaque placed on it with Lottie’s name.
