Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As some people might be aware, my dad (Marc van Grieken) is on a fundraising mission to raise £60,000 for Parkinson's UK for his 60th birthday year. To do so, himself and the 'Shaky team' cycled the 81 mile Etape Caledonia, my sister ran the Vancouver Half Marathon, friends in Comrie have organised curry nights, music nights, quizzes and supported raffles and auctions.
Now its my turn... and I am very lucky to have the support of 9 wonderful friends to run the Great Scottish Run in October.
Parkinson's affects around 1 in every 500 people, and my Dad is one of many people who bravely battle the illness daily, but he does not let it impact on his strength and determination to live life to the full. Despite it being 200 years since the discovery of Parkinson's, there is currently no cure for it. Contributing to finding one through fundraising research is a matter which is close to many of us running.
Any support would be exceptionally gratefully received.
