Story
I am taking on a swimming challenge for the British Liver Trust because their work means so much to me. In January 2022 my father was diagnosed with liver and pancreatic cancer which turned my familys world on its head. We were told that the cancer is inoperable due to its location in the liver and because of the severity on the pancreas. The money raised from this event will go to a good cause so other people in the future will be able to have the chance to have operations no matter where the cancer is on the liver and pancreas. I decided to raise money in a way that was close to home, swimming. I've swam from a very young age and I swim in all types of environments be it a pool or the sea so swimming from Penarth to Clevedon has always been a big goal of mine. However actually swimming from Penarth to Clevedon is a massive effort and requires years of training so Im swimming the distance(20km) in a pool for a warm up but this september im swimming from Clevedon to Penarth via SWYD. The charity reaches and supports thousands affected by, and at risk of, liver disease and liver cancer. They provide support and information through their nurse-led Helpline, support groups, publications and online forum. The charity raises awareness of the causes of liver disease, providing free liver scans on their Love Your Liver roadshow and they also campaign for early diagnosis, better care and treatment for everyone affected. Please help us to support the charity's work by sponsoring me. The more people that know about the British Liver Trust, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing this page with all your friends and family and your networks. Thank you for your support, it really does mean a lot to me.
