Story

UPDATE, 20th June, YES WE DID IT!  Thank you so so much you to all those who have sponsored us.  We are still fundraising so please keep adding to this page.

We know we finished in the top half of 140 competitors but exact times will be posted shortly along with some more pictures of us in action.

23th May, We have cycled 38 miles done a bit of running and swum 1 mile in the sea - what better way to spend the weekend !!  17th May this evening we are swimming in the open water - Yikes!!!! (I hope my wetsuit turns up in the post today....!)

We are raising money for a dialysis machine!

Our story starts with an email from James to Louis on 31st August 2010 saying 'Fancy doing this next year if we get a place?' The quick response was 'yes'. So here we are having agreed to take part in Norfolk Superhero Challenge 2011 taking place on 18th June which consists of: 1 mile swim in the sea, 4 mile kayak through the creeks of Burnham Overy Staithe, 38 mile cycle avoiding the pot holes of North Norfolk and finishing with a 7 mile run across the tracks and sands of the marsh. This is a team event and we will be completing (getting through it) as a pair.

We have chosen to take the opportunity to raise money for Wells Cottage Hospital's Mermaid Appeal and we are hoping to raise in excess of £5,000 for this worthy cause.

Update: In early Feb we both swam 1 mile (88 lengths of the lcoal pool) and then ran 2.5 miles - we are getting there! James also completed a 7 mile race last weekend

After several weeks training in the pool, we are getting to grips with the 'lingo' of fellow athletes - 'carbon fibre' 'tri-suits' 'orca' oh well i guess 'board shorts' a rusty old bike and flip flops are not enough.
