We bring more than medicine to seriously ill children in hospital.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At a time in my life when all the people around me are running outside in the cold, the wet, the snow in order to raise money for worthy causes, I thought it was about time I made a stand and did something similar.  With my thumbs.  Indoors.  The aim is to play video games for 24 hours straight without either my brain or my elderly Playstation 2 exploding.  I'll be doing this during the second weekend in October (8th-9th), and it's in aid of the Sick Kids' hospital.

But that's not particularly galling, I hear you cry.  As an incentive, if I reach my targets prior to the event, I will do the event dressed in a silly and uncomfortable manner.

£100 - dressed as a pirate

£200 - dressed as a hula girl

£250+ - dressed as a futuristic space robot

If I make £500, which seems unlikely, I will do the entire thing in my wedding dress (complete with veil). Rest assured that it is extremely uncomfortable.

Actually, I'm not sure that any of this is an incentive.  It might actually discourage you.  So bear this in mind:

The Sick Kids' hospital in my home town of Edinburgh is a very special place and any donations you might like to make will go to a very worthwhile cause.  Money raised by this 24-hour-videogamathon (is that a word?) will go towards these lovely things:

* Extra comforts, which make time in hospital better for children
* Facilities
* Extra medical equipment
* Support for sick children who are cared for in the Community
* Funding for extra training and research

Have a peek at www.sickkidssavepoint.org for a bit more information.

I promise I'll not squeeze you for any more sponsorship within the next 3 years should you donate.
