National 3 Peaks (sub 24hrs) Challenge · 17 May 2014 to 19 May 2014 ·

IWCT became involved with the illegal dog meat trade in the Philippines in 1998. We aim to put an end to the killing of dogs for human consumption and provide quality medical care and a safe environment for helpless animals.

Story

Hey there folks,

I am going to attempt to do the 3 peaks challenge on Saturday 24 May - yikes! This involves walking to the summit of the three highest peaks in the UK - Snowdonia, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, in under 24 hours. I will be doing this with St George's Uni Hiking and Walking Society. I thought I would also use this opportunity to try and raise some money for a charity which I support.

Since 2004 I have been a supporter of a small charity called the International Wildlife Coalition Trust.  The IWCT are based in the UK and the Philippines and work tirelessly to rescue dogs in the Philippines who sadly get caught up in the dog meat trade. Although this trade is illegal over there, there is still a demand for it on the black market. The doggies suffer the most appalling treatment at the hands of these evil people and the IWCT do their best to rescue these poor souls, give them sanctuary and re-home them. As they are a very small charity they are always short of funds and if possible I would like to raise at least £100 to donate to their amazing work they do. If you would like to find out a bit more about the IWCT please visit their website at

http://www.iwct-uk.org/

Please consider giving what you can. Even as little as £1.00 makes all the difference - lots of £1.00's adds up to a decent amount of money!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

Lou :-)
