Story
Over lockdown my hair has grown so much that i feel i can cut 8 inches off of it, to donate it to the Little Princess trust. This will help give a child with cancer a confidence boost to have a real-hair wig.
I’ve chosen Bowel Cancer UK as the charity to donate the money to as it is a cause very close to my heart. In 2018 my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer and had to undergo major surgery. She is now on a 5 year surveillance programme and counts herself as lucky. From our perspective bowel cancer is a cancer that is not talked about enough and there seems to be a stigma attached to it. I hope by raising this money i can also raise awareness of this small charity.
Cancer has such a profound impact on not only the patient but also their friends and family. Bowel Cancer UK provided, and still provide, a lot of support for my mum and us. The impact of cancer is not only physical but also psychological and doesn’t go away after treatment- it can stay with you forever.
I would be so grateful for any donation you could give, no matter how small as every penny helps. If you feel you cannot donate, please share the link to this page to anyone you know!
