Story

Hi Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am very passionate about raising money for mental health,  this local Dundee Charity, DAMH (Dundee Association for Mental Health) will receive 100% of monies you guys donate/ sponsor - nothing is going to the event company.

Everyone, from children to adults, to the elderly, your family, friends, work colleagues can all suffer from mental health issues.  1 in 4 of us will suffer from mental health difficulties, these can vary from depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bi-polar.  These are just a few to be named but the important point I want to make - it could be any one of us!  You may already support someone, you may know of someone, lets do something for the local individuals who need that extra support and place to go.

Here is a link to a blog I wrote a little while ago:

The charity works in a variety of ways but the area that strikes me is the link and association they have made with physical activity.  Using groups of varying difficulties cycling, walks, greenbuds, all while helping to break down the stigma and barriers that continue to exist around mental health.

I will be running through the Sahara Desert (WOW) for 6 days taking in anything from 10 miles to 50-56 miles.  Ill let that sink in . . . .

I will regularly update the page with training, exciting or gruesome finds hahaha.  But I am truly grateful for all your support.  It really does spur you on when times on the journey are tough, when you have those little doubts in yourself (they happen occasionally) and when you have to dig deep on those physical and mental reserves.  So THANK YOU!!
