Story
As some of you might know, we lost our beautiful girl Courtney Woodman, who was just 20 years old on the 1st November 2021.
She fought cancer with everything she had and made the most amazing progress which wowed everyone who knew and loved her.
However, there came a time when she could fight no more and this is where St.Luke’s stepped in to help her and those that loved her through the worse period of all of our lives.
They were absolutely incredible and although we could never fully repay what they did, I’ve decided to try to raise some money for them to help them continue to do the great things that they do.
So, on the 19th June 2022, I will be running (possibly limping and even crawling!) the Plymouth Half Marathon. I am definitely not a natural runner and this is going to be a huge challenge for me!!
I’d appreciate any donations you could make for this amazing charity in memory of my beautiful niece and of course, if you’re local - come cheer me along on the day. I’m going to need as much support as I can get!! 😂
A little about St.Luke’s…
For more than 35 years we have been providing specialist end of life care and support to people from across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall, whether in the home, hospital or at our specialist unit at Turnchapel. We care for people with serious illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, multiple sclerosis and chronic lung disease, treating any adult over the age of 18. We do all we can to involve patients in decisions about their care, to maintain privacy and dignity in providing that care and to respect patients individual rights and religious and cultural beliefs. Our approach to care is holistic, centred on the needs of the individual patient.
