We all know at least one person who has either beaten, fighting or been lost to some sort of cancer. Thankfully we are hearing many more happy endings and much of that is thanks to the treatment, care and support provided at Velindre.

What's more my family is once again facing this disease as my sister Claire has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is her, my dad, my father in law Brian and the numerous friends, family and colleagues that i find myself thinking about during the long hours running the streets. So it for this reason that i couldn't let my efforts go to waste and have decided to raise some money for this incredibly important service.

I am privileged to be running the marathon for Rhymney Valley Athletics club which my husband Rob and I are very proud to be part of. I hope i can make the club proud.
