My god daughter Louise and I will now be taking on the Ilkley duathlon on the 23rd September 2018, and we are raising money for the Police treatment centres in doing so. This started as a triathlon, but is now a run/ bike/ run as the pool will not be available.

I am a retired Sergeant who served 30 years with South Yorkshire Police. Louise's dad, Barry Taylor, was a good friend of mine and also a Sergeant (who also set my wife and I up on a blind date in 1984). Sadly, in 1995 he took his own life, whilst still a serving officer.

The Police Treatment Centres carry out incredible work to repair, rehabilitate and help and support Police Officers and staff through the full range of physical and psychological issues that can arise from a hugely demanding career.

I, and many others I know, have been fortunate enough to experience the centres at first hand, and are all the better for that contact and treatment.

If you could donate even a small amount to the centres, and our efforts between now and the event. we would be really grateful. It all goes to to help some fantastic people improve their health quickly, and get back to their work supporting the public.
