In 2010 we lost mum to ovarian cancer it was the hardest time we as a family have ever been through. Because of support from marie curie we were able to keep mum at home and nurse her ourselves. Without them this wouldn't have been possible this is why i would like to be able to help them continue their work.

2016 you guys helped me raise just over £4000 for Marie Curie, which I still can't get over! This meant 100s of people received palliative care & 1000s of families were helped in what is one of the toughest times anyone can go through.

I'd like us to try & do this again!

For my part I will be donating all of the proceeds from my horticultural talks for the next 2 years, setting up day courses in pruning & such like, selling cards & of course going out & making a fool of myself in public again... for those of you that know me you'll know this is nothing new!

This will ultimately culminate in walking 20km a day for 4 days and finally climbing a small 500+m hill in the hot sweaty jungles of Cambodia, the surrey hills just aren't enough of a challenge!

Mosquitoes, camping, attack by rodents/snakes/spiders etc. all things are possible but ultimately it's about helping the people & families that are affected by cancer & giving them a chance to be together.
