Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·
Hi folks. After a long, dark and sober winter of running and abstinence I now I have just over a month to go before Marathon Time. The training has been pretty tough going but with some amazing support from old friends and new, I'm now (fairly) confident of getting round the course without losing any limbs or too much dignity.
The training though is only one half of the battle as I am running on a Christies team place and I have pledged to raise over £1500 on their behalf. Which is where you come in. I know that a lot of you have already been unbelievably generous in supporting my other fundraising endeavours but I'm going to be cheeky and ask again. And again. And again.
The Christie Charity raises money to fund projects at The Christie Hospital which are outside the scope of the NHS. Last year they raised nearly £12 million which funded a whole range of things, including a new radiopharmacy, communications skills training for nursing staff, a new state-of-the-art surgical robot, groundbreaking cancer research and a wig service (to name but a few).
Please make all of my training worthwhile and help me raise as much cash as I can. Since I'm running the marathon on my own I'm going to need all of the help I can get so I'm going to build myself a running playlist. When you donate please suggest a song for me to add to my playlist - anything that you think will give me that extra kick up the backside when I'm cruising at 5 miles, flagging at 20 or crying at 25. You can be safe in the knowledge that I will be thinking of you for at least 4 minutes whilst I'm running.
Thanks in advance. You're amazing x
