In memory of Jaya Gauri Gokal
Go Dharmic volunteers serve the underprivileged every week across the UK. We have launched a campaign to support the elderly, vulnerable and carers during this difficult time.

Story

Our beloved Ba, Jaya Gauri Gokal has left her body in the early hours of the morning of the 12th of January 2021. She passed peacefully in her sleep leaving four children and nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren with two more on the way.

She was the head of our family and a very strong, independent and loving lady. The final say in any decision in the Gokal family always rested with her and nobody went against her wishes.  She loved us so much and even when she was so poorly and we would try to feed her, the only thing on her mind would be whether we have taken food.

She left on her own terms, having her way with her passing too, not allowing even death to rush her.  She dearly loved Shree Sanatan Mandir Luton, and all of her devoted friends. Her whole life was a journey of love and sacrifice, ever since she left India to come to England.  In her happiness and sadness she remained steadfast and content whatever difficulties life gave her.

The first verse of the Hanuman Chalisa is the word Jaya, which means victory and her life was the victory of love.  We need not shed any tears for her but celebrate this shining light that will continue in our hearts.  We pray to God for the journey home of our beloved Ba and find solace in the words of Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.

Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor these kings, nor in the future will you or any of these kings ever cease to be.  2.12 BG

As we will not be having any Beswanu, or prayers at the house, please kindly refrain from sending any flowers or gifts, if you would like to donate to Go Dharmic, we will be continuing to serve the elderly in Luton, many of whom were her close friends.

Jaya Shri Krishna,

In loving memory of Jaya Gauri Gokal

O Partha, the supreme Lord can only be achieved by pure love, wherein all beings exist and by which the entire world is pervaded. 8.22 BG

Aum Shanti Shanti Shanti
