35km a day for January - Duathlon · 1 January 2022

We provide the children of deceased and medically retired officers from our contributing forces with financial support and stability throughout their educational and developmental years following a significant change in family life.

Story

I hadn't heard of The Gurney Fund until 3 years ago, unfortunately it was through personal circumstances. I was overwhelmed and still am today at the work this fantastic Charity does to support the bereaved children of Police officers.

Although a Charity/ Fund, I prefer to refer to them as a family, because if one looks at the amazing work they carry out it truly represent a family that offer support and are there for each and every one of those children and families that are in need.

I decided to raise money for the Gurney Fund, something to show my appreciation for the continued support that they have given my children and also, more importantly, to raise awareness. I want people and police officers to be aware that this Fund exists and of the fantastic work they do that we, as a family, are forever grateful of.

I decided to set a personal challenge for January by running or cycling 35km a day for 31 days. Although it may not seem to be a tough enough challenge for some, it's a realistic one for me whilst working and looking after 2 wonderful children.

Please support me and help me raise monies for The Gurney Fund, any contribution is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lowri x
