I am cycling from Peterborough to Paris over 4 days to raise funds for Free Kicks Foundation. Football has the ability to inspire children, whichever club they support, to go on to great things!

The Free Kicks Foundation is a Nationwide charity whose aim is to provide football-related activities for ill, bereaved and disadvantaged children, giving them a day to remember with their favourite football club. Since the charity launched in 2007, they have made it possible for over 1,000 amazing young people to attend matches and meet their favourite teams.

The ride will involve 4 days of cycling, 100 miles per day, making our way from Peterborough to Portsmouth, an overnight ferry to France, followed by an early start heading towards Paris.

In preparation for the ride, I have already clocked up in excess of 1,200 miles this year to get fit for the challenge and be ready for the hilly terrain that awaits. This has involved cycling in horrendous winter weather and slogging it out on the indoor trainer.
