LRRSE Vet Bill Appeal

Labrador Retriever Rescue Southern England · 26 November 2012
We are holding yet another appeal, but this time it isn’t for a single dog, but for 3 dogs, all of which require treatment. Katie, Charlie & Calvin need our help, and we are expecting the combined total of their vet bills to be in the region of £6,500.
Our coffers are running low and we need a bit of extra help to see us through this particularly busy time.
With Christmas approaching we are hoping that you can spare £5 towards our appeal to allow us to treat the dogs currently in our care, and to open our doors to dogs in need of medical treatment once again. That £5 could be what you were going to spend on a toy or treats for your dog, that little extra present you were going to get someone else, a couple of drinks at a Christmas Party or a box of chocolates – that’s all we are asking for.
Katie – Katie is an ex-puppy farm bitch that came to us in such bad condition you could see every rib on her body. Katie has cataracts in both eyes, which can be treated with an operation. We have been given an estimate of £2,000 for Katie’s treatment.
Charlie – Charlie is an older boy, given up by his family as they are emigrating and is currently in one of our foster homes. He has a bad limp and which the vet believes is caused by an old cruciate injury which was never properly treated. This has resulted in him losing some muscle mass on his leg and walking with a permanent limp. The estimated cost of his operation and post-operative care is expected to be £1,500.
Calvin – Calvin had a lump on his nose, which turned out to be cancer. Calvin has had an MRI scan and has also had an operation and the vets are hopeful they have removed all of the soft tissue sarcoma. They will have to wait for the results to be returned from the lab and this will determine if he needs radiotherapy or not. If he does need radiotherapy then the final bill is likely to be in excess of £3,000
