Story
Hey there,
I'm once again running the London 10K for SpecialEffect! I've run two times before, once in 2018, and most recently in 2019.
I don't run at any other event, but I've always enjoyed doing the London 10K because of how much fun it is, and because it makes a good excuse to raise for a cause that I care about.

Why SpecialEffect?
I believe in SpecialEffect's mission to provide tailored and integrated hardware solutions for making video games accessible to everyone regardless of disability.
Having been raised with video games, I can confidently say that they have had a positive impact on my life. They have enabled me to play with others, to collaborate, to share unique experiences with friends, and to express myself creatively, too.
I strongly believe that it should be possible for anyone to have these same experiences, regardless of any kind disability. SpecialEffect enables others to be able to do that with customized hardware and peripherals, that are tailored and configured to the needs of the individual. I think that's incredible, not only because of the ingenuity involved in being able to develop this hardware to the needs of the person, but because of the immensely positive impact that it has on them too.
This was added by default, but I'll leave it here for further reading:
The London 10K is SpecialEffect's longest standing fundraising event, and back in the day a hard core of games industry professionals made something of a name for themselves by completing the race dressed as their favourite video games characters - a tradition that has continued to this day!SpecialEffect have been continuing to offer assessments, equipment loans and advice during the Covid lockdowns and appreciate your support more than ever!
