NEPAL EARTHQUAKE FACTS!

Number of people killed : 8,617

Number of people injured : 16,808

Number of people displaced : 2.8 million

Number of people affected : 5.6 million 

Number of hospitals damaged : 26

Number of homes destroyed : over 473,000

Many in Nepal have been left homeless by the disaster and the country is already reported to be running out of food and water!

The British Army has some of the most dilligent soldiers coming from The Royal Gurkha Rifles, originating from Nepal but doing a incredible job for our country. The families back in Nepal are devastated by the earthquakes but yet they do a fantastic job.

One of the most diligent Rifleman that I ever had under my command was Rifleman Gurung whom I served with on Operation HERRICK 18 in Afghanistan. I also currently have a Nepalese officer Cadet under my command at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst; OCdt Priyanka Lama, 4 Platoon, Burma Company.

These are the reasons why I want to run the "White Rose Ultra" (30 Miles) and raise some money to help the Nepal Appeal!

I've targeted £1000 to support projects such as the "Kodari School Rebuild" where the Nepal Appeal is not just looking to rebuild the property but also provide long term support to help the country get back on it's feet.
