Hello everyone! I am the challenge leader for a group of Bath University students who are undertaking the biggest fundraising and athletic challenges of our lives. Our team of 5 has teamed up with Choose a Challenge and the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) to fundraise both for MRF and for a 12 day expedition to Everest Basecamp and back. All the money raised will go to MRF and they will allocate half to fulfilling their goals in tackling meningitis and supporting individuals who suffer from the disease. The other half will go to supporting the fundraising team for our expedition. 

This fundraising challenge has provided myself and the rest of the team an opportunity to learn more about meningitis and the amazing work MRF does. With meningitis being the second largest killer of children below the age of 5 worldwide it is important we act now. Therefore, I am honoured to know that funds raised by our team will help in the MRF and WHO target of eradicating meningitis by 2030. Personally I plan on organising numerous sweepstakes and raffles, as well as some questionable decisions such as waxing myself for donations. I hope to also run the Bath Half Marathon in fancy dress for MRF, to make this interactive I will contact potential donees and families affected by meningitis to vote on what I wear beforehand.
