I know it’s a cliche but it really is true, all we really ask is for you to come and have a blast at our wedding. However, it has become the norm that people want to bring a gift to a wedding. One thing that we both really want is for Lucy’s mum to get better so she can really enjoy watching Ronnie grow, enjoy walking in the lakes, dancing with friends in the pub and whatever else takes her fancy. This is obviously not possible as a gift but we’d really appreciate any donations to the ME Association.
Lucy’s mum Hilary has been suffering from ME, which causes severe fatigue, for three and a half years now, in good stages she is able to go for lunch with friends and has had a few little, very slow paced holidays to the Lake District and Scotland but hasn’t managed to return to work. In the bad stages she is unable to leave the house, struggles to have the energy to have visitors and only manages short snuggles with Ronnie. There is no known cause or treatments for ME which makes this all the more frustrating.
The ME Association supports sufferers by providing advice, a support phone line and funds research into ME to help find a cure. We have chosen that all the money donated will be split so that half will go to the association supporting current sufferers and half will go to the Ramsey Research Fund which provides grants to those carrying out research.
Please donate what you would have spent on a gift or whatever you can afford.
